A man who police say was involved in a 2010 drug deal in which one person was killed has been arrested on a first-degree murder complaint.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Warrant Team arrested 20-year-old Samuel Reyes on Tuesday, January 3. According to Oklahoma City Police Department spokesman MSgt. Gary Knight, Reyes, Joel Ortiz and Omar Galaviz were participating in a drug deal in June 2010 when two men in a truck began shooting at their vehicle.

Nineteen-year-old Ortiz was killed. Galaviz was injured. Reyes was not hurt. Prosecutors said Ervin Coleman and Marcus Johnson were behind the shooting. They were arrested and put on trial for murder, but a mistrial was declared in October 2011 after one of the defense attorneys was accused of showing up drunk to court.

MSgt. Knight says although Reyes was one of the people who was shot at, he was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint because he was engaging in a felony crime at the time of the shooting.
Reyes is being held in the Oklahoma County jail without bond.
