More than 40 members of Oklahoma Army National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade will return from Afghanistan on Thursday, January 12.
The soldiers are expected to arrive at the Norman Armed Forces Reserve Center at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the Oklahoma National Guard, this is the second group of soldiers to return to Oklahoma due to a "surge reduction" that was mandated by the Department of Defense.
About 33 Oklahoma guardsmen were the first to return to U.S. soil as part of the reduction on December 15, 2011, according to the Oklahoma National Guard.
The majority of the brigade is expected to return in March, 2012.
