Kingfisher County officials are investigating whether someone deliberately caused an explosion and fire at an oil storage tank.

According to the Kingfisher Fire Department, crews responded to a call of the fire at around 10 a.m. Sunday. The tank is located about five miles west and two miles south of Kingfisher.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and no one was injured, according to the fire department.

Fire officials said a bullet fired at the tank caused pressure to build up and explode. The fire damaged two of three Continental Operating Co. oil tanks.
