His voice once echoed inside the arena as the public address announcer for the Oklahoma City Thunder, but Jim Miller was silenced by allegation of sexual misconduct.
Miller posted bond and left the Oklahoma County jail just after midnight Friday. He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of lewd acts with a child.
"He would put on pornography and masturbate while this young boy watched," said Phil Stewart with the Harrah Police Department.
Court papers described the victim as an 8-year-old boy and alleged Miller forced the boy to watch.
"He brought these allegations to a parent, I believe to his mother" said Steward. "At that point she began to make the appropriate phone calls."
Stewart added that investigators immediately looked into whether any Harrah High School students were victims. Miller was a speech teacher and a tennis coach there.
"At no point and time did we ever uncover anything in our investigation that indicated any of our students were involved what-so-ever," said Stewart. "No hint or suggestion of impropriety there at all involving any Harrah students."
Miller allegedly told investigators the whole situation was a misunderstanding and that the boy walked in on him by accident.
"He was concerned that he didn't want this young man to see that this, in his idea, wasn't a natural way of moving through life and growing up and he didn't want him to see it as something awful and therefore he chose not to terminate his activities," Stewart said.
Investigators said they found nearly 450 pornographic images and videos on Miller's home computer and Thursday, they confiscated his office computer, which had no pornographic material on it.
There is a second, parallel investigation going on because two girls, who were 18 and 19 came forward with similar allegations.
