Oklahoma City Thunder assistant general manager Rob Hennigan has been named general manager of the Orlando Magic.
Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins made the announcement today, making Hennigan the youngest GM in the NBA at age 30.
"It is with great enthusiasm and optimism that we announce Rob Hennigan as our new general manager," said Martins. "Rob is an astute strategist and evaluator of talent who comes to the Magic family from two championship-level organizations. We feel he is an outstanding fit and the right choice to lead our basketball operations team in achieving our championship goals."
Hennigan has spent the past four seasons with the Thunder. In his first two seasons, he was the team's director of college/international player personnel. The past two years, Hennigan has been in his current role of assistant GM and player personnel director.
Hennigan spent the four years prior to his time in Oklahoma City with the San Antonio Spurs. His most recent job was director of basketball operations, a position he received in September of 2007.
