A metro daycare has to wait to open its doors after thieves broke in and stripped the business of its copper tubing and wiring.
Candice Harlan, the daycare owner, says every day she has to wait to open, she is losing money. She's already pumped thousands of dollars into the business, and this is a major setback.
Her landlord, who owns a business next door, also had damage, including holes in the walls and ceiling.
Luckily, he has insurance to pay for repairs.
"This is frustrating. If that's your job to roll around the city and see all the stuff that you can take, that's ridiculous, and I pray that you get caught," Harlan said.
An electrician fixing the damage today says copper theft repairs make up 10 to 15 percent of his business.
