Authorities released new information in the shooting death of a man inside an Edmond home.
The Oklahoma County District Attorney is ruling the death of Michael Ford as "justifiable homicide". The DA says the shooter was in fear for his life.
Investigators say Ford threatened at least one person with a knife on September 9, when he showed up at his ex-wife's home in the 1500 block of Louis Street near Santa Fe and Danforth. Police said although the two were separated, Ford still had keys to the house.
According to investigators, Ford began fighting with the woman and her friend. Police said Ford went to his car, got a large knife, returned to the house and threatened the friend. The man said he feared for his life, so he shot Ford.
Ford was struck three times in the head and chest. He died at the scene.
