Man Accused Of Punching Victim In Bricktown Bonds Out Of Jail

A man accused of punching another man and breaking his neck outside a club in Bricktown is now out of jail.

Shawn Tran pleaded not guilty on Monday to aggravated assault and battery and posted bond Tuesday.

Witnesses say on September 3, Tran put his arm around Phong Nguyen's neck and punched him. Nguyen's family transported him to the hospital the next day where they discovered he had a broken neck and a blood clot in his brain.

Doctors said the punch to his face caused the injuries. Nguyen had to undergo surgery.

Tran's preliminary hearing is set for October 4.
