Controversy Over SW OKC Apartment Complex Goes To Court

Wells Fargo Bank is asking a judge to appoint a receiver to manage the Hillcrest Residence Apartments until foreclosure actions commence.

When temperatures were well above 100 degrees, Hillcrest Residence Apartments in southwest OKC wasn't providing air conditioning to many residents.

Attorneys for a controversial southwest Oklahoma City apartment complex will defend their clients on Tuesday, after attorneys for Wells Fargo Bank, One of the owners of Hillcrest, did their best Monday to show what kind of mess Hillcrest Residence Apartments have been in.

We first shined a light on Hillcrest back in July, after dozens of tenants complained to us that the air conditioning hadn't been working in their apartments for several weeks.

Despite being stonewalled by Hillcrest Residence Management, News 9 got the attention of Oklahoma City code inspectors, who cited Hillcrest with a handful of violations on July 25.
