Oklahoma City police are hoping a surveillance photo will help them catch a woman who passed counterfeit checks at metro stores.

Police say the woman used the checks at the Wal-Mart at Interstate 240 and Santa Fe, and the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at S.W. 104th and Western. The checks totaled nearly $300.

Police say the check information was stolen from a man who often hires short-term workers from local rescue missions. The victim told police his checks were not stolen, so it appears someone used counterfeit checks bearing the bank's routing number, and the victim's checking account number.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect, hoping someone will recognize her. They urge anyone who knows who the woman is to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a cash reward.
