Oklahoma City Police have found a man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend early Monday morning from a mobile home just south of Lake Overholser.

Police say George Washington kidnapped Candace Copeland from the 1400 block of Windsurf Way. The two were found around 8:30 a.m. at a hotel near Reno and Meridian. Police say Washington surrendered peacefully to police. Copeland was released unharmed.

Washington was arrested on complaints of kidnapping, burglary and possession of a firearm.

News 9 spoke to Copeland's cousin. She says Washington was armed with a shotgun when he broke into the home around 4 a.m.

According to the cousin, Washington yelled "let's go!" and forced Copeland out of the house. Police say Washington and Copeland drove away in a 1994 Oldsmobile 88.

Copeland's cousin tells News 9 when the two dated, Washington had harmed Copeland. Washington had just been released from the Comanche County jail when he allegedly abducted Copeland.
