An attempt to recover stolen property ended with a police officer shooting a pit bull, saving one of the possible suspects.

It happened at a home in the 6300 block of Ashby Terrace. Oklahoma City Police say they received a call Monday night from someone who had their ATV's stolen, and had found them at that home.

Officers attempted to talk with the people inside, but they didn't answer. A search warrant was issued Tuesday morning.

After making several arrests, a pit bull inside the home started attacking one of the possible suspects.

An officer pulled the person away from the dog, and shot it.

All of the stolen property was recovered.
