Enid Police arrested a 28-year-old man accused of raping his babysitter while his 9-year-old daughter was in the house.
The 17-year-old victim told police she was babysitting Jimmy Petersen's child at his home in the 3600 block of Buffalo Drive when the man came home for lunch. She said Petersen asked to speak to her in his bedroom.
The victim said when she entered the room, Petersen tried to kiss her. She said she refused, and then Petersen shoved her onto the bed and removed her clothes. The victim told police she repeatedly told Peterson to stop, but he continued his actions and raped her.
The girl said after the rape, Petersen left the house. That's when she contacted the police. When a detective questioned Petersen later that day, he said he thought the girl was 18 years old. He also claimed when he came home for lunch, the victim asked to have sex with him. Petersen said he "didn't really want to," but the babysitter threatened to tell other people they'd had sex if Petersen didn't do what she wanted.
Petersen said he had sexual intercourse with the victim, but stopped when he thought he heard his 9-year-old daughter nearby.
Police arrested Petersen on a complaint of first-degree rape. He's being held in the Garfield County Detention Facility without bond.
