Teen Motorcyclist Dies From Injuries Suffered In MWC Accident

The teen motorcyclist, who was in critical condition after colliding with a car in Midwest City on Friday, died Saturday morning of the injuries he suffered in that accident.

The teen motorcyclist, who was in critical condition after colliding with a car in Midwest City on Friday, died Saturday morning of the injuries he suffered in that accident.

Police have identified the victim as 17-year-old Kittrick Johnson Jr., a senior at Midwest City High School.

The accident is still under investigation, but early reports indicate that Johnson was driving westbound on NE 10th when a white Chevy Impala driven by 63-year-old James Griffith made an improper left turn and pulled out in front of Johnson.

Johnson slammed into the passenger side of the car and witnesses say the motorcycle caught fire, and the driver was knocked unconscious. Police say the witnesses stopped and were able to extinguish the flames. An ambulance was called to the scene to transport Johnson to OU Medical Center. 

When the accident is complete a final report will be submitted to the Oklahoma County District Attorney's office.  The DA will determine if charges will be filed.
