A church daycare worker is accused of throwing a 1-year-old child. It's the second charge in just the past few weeks.
When confronted by Chickasha Police, Kaitlyn Murphy admitted she has anger problem and will forget what happens when she gets mad. But surveillance cameras provided investigators with evidence of not one, but two different instances of child abuse.
"I was just shaking I was just more upset and mad than anything else," the mother of one of the victims said.
The mother does not want to be identified but is outraged after watching surveillance video from Wee Care, the daycare facility her one year old attends.
"There is nothing they could do to deserve that at all and they are so innocent," she said.
Murphy did not open the door to our questions about the second complaint of child abuse, but Grady County prosecutors describe the evidence found in 200 hours of video.
"She raised the child a bit and forcefully throws the child to the ground to some sort of small bean bag chair," First Assistant District Attorney James Walters said.
Walters says Murphy threw the child about three feet and although the second victim did not receive a visible injury, a second child, one year old Gunner, received a broken arm.
"Rest assure if any child was harmed or put at risk of harm, we will prosecute them," said Walters, and it's a promise the mother is holding onto along with her baby.
"He's with me now and I know that he is fine and she is not at the daycare to do anything else," the mother said.
Murphy's attorney did not return our call, but we're told she is expected to turn herself in to authorities sometime on Wednesday.
