Soon 16 OCPD patrol cars will be equipped with high speed license plate scanners; a great tool for police, but it does concern me that we'll all be scanned and theoretically tracked unless they erase the information frequently. Here's what you had to say.

John in Norman first: "If there is no outstanding warrant or other pertinent data revealed, what's wrong with deleting it immediately?"

Ron writes: "I believe the scanners are good, but the information should be kept only 5 to 10 days."

Gwen in Harrah: "I am a law-abiding citizen but am outraged at the invasion of privacy."

But Daniel in Tecumseh says: "Everybody needs to stop crying about their civil liberties."

Wade writes: "Google earth can look directly in your back yard or track your every move through your smart phone. So, which is more a violation of your privacy?"

Sam in Norman: "Aren't you willing to assist our local law enforcement in protecting our city for the small price of letting the government know where you are?"

Dave from Luther: "Trash the data immediately or trash the tool."

Finally, Eric in Edmond: "What the Oklahoma City Council will understand is citizens marching on city hall to defeat these kind of measures."
