Oklahoma City University's Nick Bonfiglio was named 2012 NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athlete.

The senior from Oklahoma City earned his second scholar-athlete award. Bonfiglio boasts a 3.70 grade point average while majoring in economics.

Bonfiglio finished 15th in the Central Oklahoma Land Run, 28th in the Bison Invitational, 48th in the NAIA Mid-States Classic and 21st in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships.

Bonfiglio was the lone senior on the OCU squad and helped the Stars finish fourth at the SAC Championships.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.

OCU runners will return to action during the 2013 indoor and outdoor track seasons.
