Del City residents will hear the wail of severe weather sirens Monday, but there's no need for them to worry.
The city is testing its new outdoor warning system. Crews began installing the sirens in September after voters approved a $3million bond issue to purchase the new system. It includes eight new sirens that have been installed in the middle of each square mile section of the city.
If there are no problems during Monday's testing, the sirens will be online beginning Saturday.
