Former Putnam City Teacher Accused Of Rape Will Go On Trial

A former Spanish teacher at Putnam City High School waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday, and will go on trial for allegedly raping a student.

Lisa Kays is charged with rape and forcible sodomy. Investigators say Kays had sex with a 17-year-old boy who was a member of the Spanish Club. She was arrested in February after someone called in a tip to a school hotline.

The school immediately removed Kays from her classroom.

There's no word yet on when Kays' trial will begin.
