A homicide investigation is underway in south Oklahoma City. A motel shooting left one woman dead Tuesday night, and police are still looking for the suspect.

Just after 9:00 Tuesday night, OKC police responded to a shots fired call at Drover's Inn, off south I-35.

"When officers arrived they found one woman inside one of the hotel rooms. She had been shot," OKCPD MSgt. Gary Knight said.

Paramedics took that woman, 30-year-old Meagin Gravitt, to the hospital.

"She was transported to OU Medical Center where, unfortunately, she died as a result of her injuries," Knight said.

Back at the motel, crime scene tape went up, and police say a separate assault happened in the parking lot.

"I was just getting ready for bed, and I heard the ‘bang, bang, bang,'" Katherine Kipplinger said.

Katherine Kipplinger lives across the street. She watched Tuesday night as police arrested two men for the assault.

"I've lived here a year-and-a-half, and this is the third time I've seen this happen," Kipplinger said.

Mark Hansen saw what happened on the news. He owns "Sign Innovations" next door.

"We're always concerned, as a business owner," Hansen said. "It's in our neighborhood, and we have a lot of assets and things like that here. We're worried about the community."

At this point, police have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting.

This marks Oklahoma City's 91st homicide of the year.

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide tip line 271-1200.
