Judge Asked To Close Law Offices Of Jerome Ersland's Attorney

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is asking a judge to shut down the law offices of Attorney Doug Friesen. Friesen is the lawyer currently representing convicted murderer Jerome Ersland.

The Tax Commission says Friesen owes about $180,000 in state taxes. The commission also says Friesen failed to file personal income tax returns at least three times over the last decade.

Friesen says he's filed all required returns.

"It's just a matter of getting reasonable minds together. And sitting down and saying 'okay, you say I haven't paid this. I've got records here indicating I've made the payments here. Show me what you're saying,'" Friesen said.

Friesen says despite the commission's accusations, his office will stay open.
