Cleveland County Homeowners Say Neighbor's Dogs Killed Their Livestock

A group of Cleveland County homeowners say they are living in fear because their neighbor's dogs are attacking and killing their livestock.

The homeowners say they can't get answers from the Sheriff, so they called us. Five dogs are terrorizing a community. The deaths have homeowners in tears, kids living in fear.

Award-winning 400 pound Ms. Piggy was big enough to ride, but gentle as a lamb. The care and love that went into raising her were torn apart.

"All her legs were ripped off, her behind was chewed out, big lacerations to her throat and her neck. So I guess that's the way it shut her up so we wouldn't hear her," Pam Dunlap said.

The pack of dogs that allegedly mauled Ms. Piggy lives nearby.

"These dogs are ginormous, they have killed a 460 pound pig," Shelby Rubio said.

The dogs live on a property which sits on a hill hidden by trees.

"It's kind of dingy. Not well taken care of, you can see the dogs from the road and they are covered in blood. These dogs aren't taken care of. That's why they killed livestock," Rubio said.

We wanted to talk to the dog owners to get their side of the story, but they eyed us from their front porch. The "No Trespassing" sign and the barking dogs convinced us to keep our distance.

We talked to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, but it said it's a civil matter, and suggest shooting the dogs if they approach.

The homeowners say the animals were show pigs, and estimate a combined $30,000 worth of livestock has been destroyed.
