Norman police are investigating the death of a man who was tased by officers following a car accident.

According to police, officers were called to assist the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on Sunday, December 16 just after 2:00 a.m. When they arrived, officers say they found 66-year-old George S. Morris of Oklahoma City. Morris was nude and had apparently been involved in a car accident.

Police said Morris refused to talk to them and then started to cross I-35 on foot. Police tried to get Morris to stop but he ignored them. Officers used a taser to stop Morris. He was then transported to Norman Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The state medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death. The police department is investigating the incident as an "in custody" death. The names of the officers involved have not been released.
