Authorities have arrested a 21-year-old Cordell man for threatening to "shoot up the school" in the Washita County town.

Washita County deputies and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation took Christopher Thomason into custody Friday. He was booked on two counts of terrorism hoax and one count of violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, according to a new release.

All are felonies.

OSBI agents say Thomason made the threats on an Internet chat board earlier this week. The Sheriff's Office called in the OSBI to investigate the threats on Friday morning.

By Friday night, agents had identified the suspect and arrested him as he was working at a well site three miles north of Mile Marker 108 on Interstate 40, the release states.

Cordell Police officers aided other OSBI agents in executing a search warrant at Thomason's home in the 400 block of South Orient Street.

Thomason once attended high school in Cordell, according to the OSBI.
