A winter storm is expected to give much of Oklahoma a white Christmas Day, which may make travel a hassle for those who are still making their way home for the holidays.
A spokesperson for Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City says the airport has been preparing for the expected Christmas Day snowstorm for a week.
Tulsa International Airport says they anticipate a minimal impact on flight operations for Christmas morning.
Several flights have been canceled due to weather at Will Rogers World Airport. Delta Airlines has canceled four of their eight scheduled flights and waived change fees.
The following flights have been canceled:
DL 5424 OKC-ATL 10:20 a.m.
DL 4577 OKC-MSP 10:55 a.m.
DL 4679 OKC-SLC 2:20 p.m.
DL 3296 OKC-DTW 3:30 p.m.
United Airlines is also waiving fees for those passengers wanting to change their Christmas day flights.
Airport officials advise those that are traveling later on Tuesday to contact the airline before leaving for the airport.
Will Rogers World Airport says maintenance crews will arrive around midnight to clear runways and taxiways. Additional staff will also be brought in to clear sidewalks, roads in front of the terminal, and parking lanes.
