While many across the state are out ringing in 2013, law enforcement is out in force. They're trying to make sure everyone celebrates in a responsible way.

State authorities are on high alert looking for drunk drivers. Agents will go inside bars to make sure the laws are being followed.

While Oklahoma City police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers target high collision and DUI areas, patrols began at 7 p.m. Monday and will end early Tuesday morning.

Officers say the extra patrols really do make a difference.

During the New Year's holiday season last year, OHP says one person died, and 31 were injured in alcohol-related crashes.
