Oklahoma City police arrested a man accused of shoplifting from a southwest Oklahoma City convenience store, and attacking a clerk when she confronted him.

The clerk, who owns the store with her husband, told police a woman walked into the Abash Food Mart at S.W. 22nd Street and Kentucky on New Year's Eve. The clerk recognized the woman as someone who'd shoplifted from the store a few days earlier.

The suspect tried to purchase some items, but the clerk told her she had to pay for what she'd stolen a few days ago. The clerk said when the suspect tried to walk out without paying again, she tried to stop her.

According to a police report, that's when the suspect attacked the clerk, hitting her in the face, chest and shoulders. The suspect then took the victim's cell phone and walked out the door, along with two young girls, ages 7 and 2.

Police obtained video of the attack, and another customer at the store informed police of the suspect's address. When police went to the house, 19-year-old Deontay Street answered the door. He was dressed as a female, and the officer thought he was a woman until Street informed him he was male.

Police say Street had the same boots and coat as the suspect in the video. There were also to children inside the home; the same children seen on the video.

Police arrested Street and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail.
