Four young women were murdered and left inside a Tulsa apartment. Right now, the murders are gaining national attention.
Police are busy trying to find the killer. A 3-year-old boy was in the apartment during the killings.
People in Tulsa told News 9 Fairmont Terrace at 61st Street and Peoria has had its share of criminal activity over the years, but never anything as awful as this.
"It's insane, frightening, ridiculous. Very very frightening, sad, very sad," one neighbor said.
Police say a friend of the victims found their bodies and called 911 just before 1 p.m. Monday. Police say the women probably had been dead less than an hour.
Police continue to canvass the area, looking for anyone who may have heard gunshots, or even the squealing of tires or a vehicle making a quick getaway.
"We would like to think if someone has information, they will come forward. It'll touch someone's heart to come forward. Very tragic to have four lives lost one day at the same scene. It's very gut wrenching," said Leland Ashley with Tulsa police.
It's unclear what the 3-year-old boy's relation is to the dead women. What is clear is his life ahead has changed forever.
"You could imagine what this child is going through at this time," Ashley said.
The young boy is in protective custody.
Meantime, officers are working around the clock, trying to track down a suspect.
