Traffic is moving here without a problem in the metro, but travel might be difficult throughout the night in several parts of the state. Especially along bridges and overpasses where moisture freezes quickly, creating icy patches.

Up North, ODOT crews were busy treating the stretch of I-35, north and south of the Perry area. Traffic was actually backed up for miles at one point on the Southbound side of I-35 as crews slowed traffic to a standstill while they treated the roadway.

Several sand trucks were treating the highway and overpasses after ice quickly accumulated along the roads. News 9 received several reports of I-35 between the Stillwater exit and Perry icing over Saturday afternoon, slowing traffic to a crawl.

And the northeastern part of the state is getting hit hard tonight. The rain has been falling all day in Tulsa, but the trouble started when the temperatures dropped below freezing. The city has about 30 trucks out right now, but they can't put down sand or salt until the rain stops.

Tulsa police will be on "Operation Slick Street" overnight; meaning they won't respond to non-injury accidents.

If you have plans to travel on Sunday be sure and check the road conditions with the department of public safety.
