Police arrest a man accused of stealing items from the fence outside the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

A man visiting the memorial on January 6 saw someone taking necklaces from the fence. He snapped a picture of the suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Dominic Polk, with his cell phone then confronted him. The witness said he was trying to stall Polk until a security guard arrived.

The man said Polk grabbed his wrist and spit in his face. The witness then watched as Polk walked away, unwrapped a cheeseburger and threw the wrapper to the ground. By then, the security guard had arrived. He handcuffed Polk and held him until police arrived.

An officer searched Polk and found two necklaces the witness said he took from the memorial fence. The items were returned to the fence.

Police arrested Polk and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of assault and battery, larceny and littering. Police also discovered Polk had a warrant out of Florida, but they did not want to extradite.
