Police arrested a man accused of exposing his genitals to a staff member at a downtown Oklahoma City hotel, while the hotel was filled with young girls and families in town for a cheerleading competition.
Around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, a manager at the hotel at 1 N. Broadway called police to report a man had exposed himself to a staff member on the fifth floor. When police arrived, the staff member told officers a man wearing a shirt and pajama pants, but no shoes, had asked for a washcloth.
The employee believed the man was a hotel guest, and didn't think anything of the request. She gave the man the washcloth, but he didn't leave. She said he then pulled down his pants, and exposed and touched himself. The worker went into a room and when she came out, he was gone.
Police and hotel staff members searched the hotel, but couldn't find the suspect. They wanted to find the suspect quickly because the hotel was housing hundreds of young girls who were in town for a cheerleading competition at the Cox Convention Center.
Police found the suspect, 29-year-old Aarron Farris of Fayetville, Arkansas, about 30 minutes later outside the hotel. He'd put on shoes, and pulled jeans over his pajama pants. Police searched him and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a pocket.
Police discovered Farris was staying at the hotel with a mother who'd brought her daughter to Oklahoma City for the cheerleading competition. She told police she's been dating Farris for about four months, but has known him for most of her life. She told police he'd been arrested before for flashing someone.
Police arrested Farris and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of indecent exposure, engaging in acts of lewdness, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
