SHERIFF: Waukomis Public Schools On Lock Down As Precaution

All Waukomis Public Schools are on lock down while police investigate a suspicious person in the area.

Garfield County Sheriff's Office told News 9 that the lock down was ordered while they searched for a former student that was asking about the superintendent. Deputies are looking for a man in his 30's that is a former student of Waukomis schools that is considered mentally unstable.

Deputies also told News 9 that the man never entered any of the schools in question and the lock down was ordered as a precaution.

School will let out at its normal time and all buses will run on schedule.
