Southeastern men's tennis will open the spring portion of their season picked to finish second in the Great American Conference Preseason Poll.

The poll is voted on by the league's coaches.

The GAC features just four teams and the Savage Storm picked up 6 points to finish second in the poll with one first place vote.

Southeastern enters the spring off a pair of wins in head-to-head matchups in the fall as well as a strong showing at the ITA Regional tournament in Springfield, Mo., which helped the team earn a No. 47 national ranking and a No. 5 regional ranking.

Southeastern fell in the first round of the GAC tournament last season to rival East Central by a 5-1 score.

Ouachita Baptist, the 2012 GAC champions, is picked to repeat after garnering nine points and the remaining three first-place votes.

ECU is right behind the Storm in third with five points while Harding rounds out the four participants with four points.

Southeastern is scheduled to open the spring season with a 3 p.m. match on the road against Dallas Baptist, with the first home match set for Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. against Austin College.

Southeastern opens GAC play against OBU on March 29 at 10 a.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
