Edmond Police are on the lookout for a man who exposed himself in public several times over the last few months and say they want to find him before anything worse can happen.

According to witness statements, the suspect was seen touching himself near a children's playground and a salon within blocks from each other.

Police described the suspect as a Native American or Hispanic male in his late teens, 5'8" about 130-150 lbs.

The most recent incident happened at Whispering Heights Park near 33rd and Meadow Ln. Several young children live in the neighborhood and their parents were worried when they heard about it.

"I think it's kind of disturbing," said Lori Bolerjack, a mother of three. "We just play at both parks."

A woman jogging by the playground spotted the suspect and chased him away from the park. She told police he got away through some backyards before they arrived.

"The thing we concern ourselves with in this case is sometimes these start out as them doing this out in the open and then it escalates to an attack or rape. Once the thrill of this masturbating in front of people [wears off]," said Officer James Hamm with the Edmond Police Department.

The incident put parents in this neighborhood on high alert. Even those without young kids say they had been on the lookout for anyone suspicious near the park since the incident. Bolerjack worried that some kids could end up in danger.

"Kids 10 to 12 out here playing without parents around and then of course, there's us with young kids that are playing there on a regular basis."

Police say if someone does come in contact with the suspect, they should not confront him, but rather call 911.
