Oklahoma Baptist got 25 points from Chase Adams and cruised to a 69-48 Sooner Athletic Conference road win at Wayland Baptist Thursday.

OBU's defense limited the Pioneers to 30 percent shooting on the night and the Bison out-rebounded the hosts 38-28.

"We did a lot of good things here tonight," said Bison Coach Doug Tolin. "I thought we did an outstanding job on the boards all night, but the whole thing started on defense. We had a lot of energy and effort on defense. We got them stopped and that got us going."

The Bison trailed 14-12 with 13:43 left in the first half but took the lead for good on a Chase Adams three-pointer. OBU closed out the half on an 8-0 run for a 33-20 halftime lead. Adams and Kameron Price had four points each in that spree.

WBU got as close as nine early in the second half, but Clinton Houston hit two jumpers and David Johnson added another to push the lead to 44-29 with 15:42 to play.

OBU's lead peaked at 22 when Marques Anderson dunked to punctuate a 6-0 run, which also included four Adams free throws, for the 68-46 lead.

Johnson joined Adams in double figures with 13 points and added a team-best seven rebounds. Kendall Parks had five assists and three steals to lead the Bison in both categories.

Now 20-5 overall and 8-3 in the SAC, the Bison finish off their West Texas road trip at Lubbock Christian Saturday. Tip-off is at 3 p.m.
