Oklahoma City Police arrested an 81-year-old man for sexual battery after a woman accused him of grabbing her buttocks as she passed him in a movie theatre.
The 20-year-old woman and her boyfriend went to see a movie Tuesday afternoon at Starplex Cinemas at North Park Mall in northwest Oklahoma City. The woman said when the movie was over, she and her boyfriend walked by Ferdinand Wilhelm, who was seated at the end of the row.
The woman said she turned to face Wilhelm as she walked in front of him, because she didn't want to put her buttocks in his face. She told police as she passed by, Wilhelm reached up with both hands and squeezed her backside.
According to the police report, the woman said, "Excuse me?" Wilhelm reportedly answered, "You're welcome. Go ahead."
The woman and her boyfriend left the theatre, but saw Wilhelm leaving with a group from a retirement center. The woman went to the director of the retirement center, and said she wanted Wilhelm to get off the bus because she planned to call the police and press charges.
When police arrived, they spoke to Wilhelm. Wilhelm denied touching the woman, and said she'd never walked past him. The officer asked Wilhelm if he had any mental difficulties, or took any medicines that may affect his memory. He said he did not. The director of the retirement center also said Wilhelm lived alone in an assisted-living apartment, and was able to take care of himself.
Police arrested Wilhelm. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on one count of sexual battery.
