For the second-straight week, Southeastern has maintained its No. 2 national ranking in the NFCA Division II Softball Poll.

The Savage Storm, who are now 15-4 on the year, lost the one first-place vote it was receiving, but actually picked up 10 points in the overall point total.

SE played just two games last week after seeing its scheduled Great American Conference opener against East Central cancelled due to field conditions in Ada, Okla.

Instead the Storm was able to host then-No. 12 Emporia State, earning a double-header split against the hornets who slipped one spot in this week's poll to No. 13.

The top five remained the same this week with Valdosta State maintaining its place atop the poll with 15 of the possible 16 first place votes.

West Texas A&M is still in third behind SE, but gained ground by maintaining its one first place vote and now is just nine points behind the Storm.

North Georgia is still No. 4 followed by Cal State-Dominguez Hills at No. 5.

No other GAC schools have moved into the rankings, but the Central region has four teams in the rankings.

Aside from SE, Central Oklahoma slipped one spot down to No. 9, while ESU moving down one as well to No. 13. Augustana rounds out the ranked teams in the Central region at No. 19.

Southeastern will be back on the field for a four-game GAC series against Southern Arkansas that will begin at 1 p.m. on March 1 at the Southeastern Softball Field.
