A two-vehicle collision in Enid claimed the life of a four-year-old boy Tuesday morning.

At about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Enid police officers responded to the report of the crash in the 2000 block of E. Owen K. Garriott.

Police in Enid say a pickup truck with mechanical trouble was pulled over along Highway 412. That's when a woman driving an Expedition hit the truck from behind.

The driver of the pickup was not injured. The driver of the Expedition suffered injuries, and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in an unknown condition.

A 4-year-old passenger in the Expedition was ejected from the back seat into the front dashboard. He died at the hospital.

Police say the child was not properly restrained in a car seat.
