Oklahoma City police make one arrest Wednesday morning following an officer-involved shooting and pursuit.

It started in the area of N.E. 23rd Street and Everest, just after 4 a.m., when Sgt. Don Majors and Officer Dustin Fulton located a stolen vehicle during a routine patrol. The officers stopped the vehicle in the 2200 block of N. Everest. Police say two people were in the car, the driver, 24-year-old Adam Shells and his passenger, 21-year-old Heather Kinnison.

As the two officers walked up to the car, Shells aggressively drove toward the officers, according to police. One officer fired in self-defense as he jumped out of the way of the moving car. The officers then returned to their patrol car and went in pursuit of the car. The officers followed the suspects to the 1000 block of N.E. 19th Street where they had pulled into a driveway. Both Shells and Kinnison took off on foot.

After a brief foot chase, the two were taken into custody. Kinnison was not arrested. No one was injured in the shooting. The officers involved will not be placed on administrative leave.
