Oklahoma City Police found a woman trying to hide in a convenience store ceiling after she and her husband allegedly pilfered dozens of packages from metro porches.

On March 7, police were called to S.E. 44th Street and High to locate two people suspected of stealing packages. They found 29-year-old Travis Parsons sitting in a vehicle parked outside a convenience store. Although the man claimed he wasn't Parsons, the officer recognized him from a previous booking photo and arrested him.

Police then went into the store to find the female suspect, 23-year-old Kristie Parsons. The clerk indicated Kristie was in the bathroom. When the officer knocked on the bathroom door, he heard several loud noises. He went into the bathroom and saw Kristie had tried to climb through the ceiling, but had partially fallen through the tiles.

The officer ordered Kristie to come down. As he arrested her, she tried to give him a false name. The officer double checked a previous booking photo and determined she was Kristie Parsons. He placed her in his squad car with her husband.

Police then searched the Parsons' vehicle, and found several packages with different names on them. The packages were filled with jewelry, tools and electronics, and appeared to be stolen from homes in both Oklahoma City and Moore.

Both Travis and Kristie Parsons were transported to the Oklahoma County jail. When the officer stopped at a red light at the intersection of Western and Sheridan, he heard a strange noise from the back seat. He looked and saw Kristie running from the car.

Apparently, Kristie was able to slip one hand from her handcuffs and open the door. The officer drove across a parking lot, cut off Kristie and took her back into custody.

According to the police report, the child safety lock on the rear door of the officer's patrol car was still engaged, and it's not known how Kristie managed to open the door.

When officers searched Travis Parsons at the jail, they found a plastic baggy of methamphetamine. He was booked on complaints of receiving or concealing stolen property, possession of meth, and bringing contraband into jail.

Kristie Parsons was booked for the same complaints, as well as attempting to escape custody and false personation.
