Mid-America Christian University senior forward Kourtni Williams has been named to the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete squad.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
This award caps a fantastic season on and off the court for the Fayetteville, Ark. native. Williams maintained a 3.56 grade-point-average in marketing and was named to the Sooner Athletic Conference All-Academic team earlier this year.
Williams led the SAC in scoring this season with 17.2 points per game and was third in the league with 8.2 rebounds a game to earn second-team all-conference honors.
She also 21 points and recorded eight boards to help the Lady Evangels to their first win in the SAC postseason tournament since the 2008-09 season.
