Oklahoma Baptist swatted three more home runs,bringing their single season record to 39 on the year in a 7-1, 8-3 sweep at Huston-Tillotson Monday.
OBU took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the opener on an RBI double by Audrey Branscum and a sacrifice fly by Erin McLeod.
The Lady Bison made it 5-1 in the third on a single and error off the bat of Branscum, a squeeze bunt by McLeod and an RBI single by Kasey Maddox.
Maddox drew an RBI walk in the fifth and McLeod homered in the seventh – her third round-tripper of the season.
OBU had a dozen hits in the game, including three by McLeod and two apiece by Amanda Harmon and Branscum.
Hannah Wilbur (7-0) went the distance, allowing one run on six hits while registering 10 strikeouts.
OBU broke out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first of the second game on an RBI single by Branscum and a sacrifice fly by Kenna Self.
HTC tied the score in the second and it remained a 2-2 game until the fourth. Then, OBU, with two outs, got consecutive singles by Dara Gray, Bre Russell and Katelynn Garrett, with Garrett getting the go-ahead RBI.
OBU broke the game open with a five-run fifth. Self her team-leading 11th home run of the season for a 5-2 lead. Russell connected for a three-run inside-the-park home run to round out the Lady Bison scoring.
OBU collected 10 hits, including two by Russell.
Noelle McDowell (7-4) got the win, pitching 4.1 innings of relief.
Now 19-8, the Lady Bison play at 10th-ranked Houston-Victoria Wednesday.
