OU's Evans Named Big 12 Newcomer Of The Week

University of Oklahoma freshman relief pitcher Jacob Evans is the Big 12 Baseball Conference's Newcomer of the Week.

Evans was selected Monday after picking up a win and a save last week while throwing 8.2 innings of scoreless relief and racking up nine strikeouts.

Evans got the Sooners out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning of Saturday's win over TCU to pick up the save -- then threw two scoreless innings on Sunday to pick up his fourth win of the season.
