A woman says her boyfriend jumped into her car, hit her with it, and then stole the vehicle.
The two were arguing the night of April 1 outside the Meridian Extended Stay Hotel at 4561 S.W. 3rd Street. The victim says she was unloading her belongings from her 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, when she said something that upset 25-year-old Nathan Gaines.
The woman says Gaines began coming toward her. She became frightened and started running toward the front office to find help. She left her keys in the ignition of her vehicle.
The victim says Gaines climbed into the driver's seat, put the Trailblazer in reverse and drove toward her. She says Gaines struck her with the driver's side rear bumper, knocking her to the ground and breaking the taillight. He then drove away.
The woman was bruised, scratched and scraped, but not seriously hurt. Police located Gaines about three hours later. He claimed he was actually the victim, and his girlfriend hit him with the car.
Police arrested Gaines and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, and larceny of an automobile.
