A couple was shot and killed by law enforcement. Now, News 9 is learning at least one of them was a suspect in a statewide burglary ring.
Christopher Stout, a man wanted for several home burglaries across the state, and his girlfriend Stacie Stout, who had no known criminal history at the time, were both shot and killed near SE 44th and Interstate-35.
At least seven law enforcement officers fired their weapons killing the couple at the scene, Tuesday night. Those officers are part of the US Marshal's Task Force.
Court records show at least eight different counties across the state are familiar with Christopher Stout. He has a lengthy criminal history of burglary, grand larceny, robbery, and [possession of] firearms.
Most recently, Payne County issued a warrant for his arrest after he allegedly broke into a house with the homeowners still inside.
The task force was serving that warrant when they say Christopher tried to run from officers.
We're told Christopher Stout was tied to a statewide burglary ring, responsible for more than 20 burglaries, taking everything from stolen jewelry, mowers, tools and lot of guns.
