Norman police seized about 14,000 packages of suspected synthetic drugs during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon.

At about 2:40 p.m., a Norman police officer stopped a Nissan Quest minivan due to multiple traffic violations near mile marker 112 on Interstate 35.

According to police, after obtaining consent to search the vehicle from the driver, the officer found about 14,000 individual packages of suspected synthetic drugs, valued at about $400,000, in the minivan.

The driver told police he was traveling from Dallas to Kansas City. He was not arrested.

Investigators say they have not ruled out possible criminal charges against the driver, pending test results from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
