Former Oklahoma State star forward Toni Young was taken with the No. 7 overall selection by the New York Liberty in Monday's WNBA Draft.
Young was expected to be a high selection as she was one of only 12 prospects invited to attend the draft ceremonies in Bristol, Conn.
Young, a Del City native, was an Associated Press and WBCA honorable mention All-American this past season and became just the second Cowgirl ever selected in the WNBA Draft, joining former OSU standout Andrea Riley, who was selected with the No. 8 pick in 2010 by Los Angeles.
She led OSU to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and averaged 16 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a senior.
She was a unanimous All-Big 12 selection and became the second player in OSU history to record 1,000 points, 700 rebounds and 100 blocks in her career.
