The public is invited to pay respects to Oklahoma City police officer Chad Peery during a viewing set for Thursday, April 18.
The viewing begins at 5 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home located at 500 S.W. 104th Street in Oklahoma City.
Peery's wake and funeral will not be open to the general public. The family has requested that those attending the wake and entering the church service be limited to family, co-workers and close friends, due to the size of the venue and the large number of those wishing to attend. However, others in attendance for the funeral are welcome to remain outside.
The wake is scheduled for Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 925 S. Boulevard in Edmond. Peery's funeral also will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m.
Peery died on Monday from injuries he suffered in a car accident in Seminole County over the weekend.
In 2011, Peery was partially paralyzed after several men beat him up outside a bar. Peery officially went back to work at the Oklahoma City Police Department investigating cyber-crimes. He was 36 years old.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donation be made to the Chad Peery Foundation at any Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Credit Union metro location.
