OKC Woman Arrested For Driving Drunk With Son In Car

A woman was handcuffed and hauled to jail Friday after allegedly driving drunk and crashing, all with her 6-year-old son in the car.

Police say 38-year-old Latrice Bookman was involved in a collision April 19 near N.W. 39th Street and Meridian. Officers say when they arrived, Bookman had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and smelled of alcohol. Officers also found a nearly-empty bottle of vodka in her car.

Bookman's 6-year-old son was in the car, but he was not hurt in the crash. He was released to a family member.

Police transported Bookman to the Oklahoma County jail and booked her for driving under the influence and child endangerment. When police administered a breathalyzer test, Bookman's blood alcohol level was .14, nearly double the legal limit of .08.
