Police are searching for a 19-year-old woman after an arrest warrant is filed in the stabbing death of an Oklahoma City medical doctor.
The warrant is for 19-year-old Jamie Lea Walker. According to court papers, Walker is wanted on a charge of murder in the first degree in the death of 59-year-old Deepak Bhasin.
Bhasin was found stabbed to death inside his home located at 15800 San Nicholas Drive in northwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. The medical examiner's office said Bhasin had been stabbed multiple times.
Oklahoma City Police said Bhasin called 911 and said he had been attacked before he eventually died on the scene.
According to the arrest warrant, investigators gathered evidence inside Bhasin's home including a cell phone used by Walker. Cell phone records showed an exchange of text messages between Walker and Bhasin about meeting each other along with another person within the hour Bhasin was killed. Cell phone tower data also revealed Walker was in the area at the time of Bhasin's death, according to homicide investigators.
Bhasin was listed with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a medical doctor with specialties in internal medicine, and general practice.
